My everyday meditation routine

My everyday meditation routine

I really like to start my day with meditation or energy work of some kind. My mornings tend to be hectic so it can be hard to fit it in. One of the ways I’ve found to get the benefit of meditation while not having to wake up at 4 am is to keep it simple.

One of my favorite morning meditations utilizes the 10 Minute Chakra Balance Guided Meditation for Positive Energy. I love it because it gets me focused and centered but only takes ten minutes! The first time I tried it I was skeptical that a 10 minute video would really help me feel better but it really helps me. As an added bonus  the music is very peaceful and the narrator has a great voice.

On days that I’m running late or have too many things going on to set aside time for meditation, I will do a very quick session while I shower. The running water provides a great environment for letting the positive energy flow. I have a couple different meditations I will use but one of my go to’s is to focus on my aura. I like to visualize the water washing all the bad vibes away and down the drain. The natural tranquility of warm water coupled with this powerful visualization can go a long way to helping me get my day started off right.

On days that I have a little more time I like to experience a longer meditation. On these days, I utilize my yoga mat, crystals, candles, incense and any props I need to be comfortable. I turn on music and get really comfy. I like to meditate in savasana or dead man’s pose but it’s important that you find a pose that is most comfortable for you. As a person who experiences a lot of anxiety, I find that focusing on the chakras is a good way to help me balance my energy.

Once I’m relaxed, I like to visualize my chakras. Starting from the crown and working down I visualize a white cleansing light restoring each energy center. I envision the light filling each chakra and cleansing it from negative energy. I like to picture the negativity as dark matter and while the white light fills my chakra centers, I focus on the negativity being washed away by the light.  Finally, I picture the natural color of each chakra being restored and glowing bright and then the white light flowing to the next chakra. I repeat this all the way down the root chakra.

I have found over time that at the end of my meditation, I like to take a couple minutes after balancing my chakras and just stay in the meditation focusing on how my body feels calm. As an anxious person, focusing on that moment of calm can go a long way in getting my day started off on a good note.

I finish off my meditation practice by combing through my aura with an intuitively chosen crystal.  Some of my favorites are Celestite, Rainbow Flourite and Angel Aura Quartz.
