My first experience with Reiki
I am a long time sufferer of chronic anxiety. And when I say long term, I mean long term, like my whole life, since I was four years old. Over the years I have tried many ways of managing my anxiety. I’ve always been drawn to meditation, yoga and natural remedies. These have had varying effects on my anxiety.
When I initially tried meditation, I would get very frustrated with myself. I had a lot of trouble focusing and could never seem to stay at it for longer than a few minutes. Racing thoughts are a big part of my anxiety and I couldn’t seem to turn them off no matter how much nature sounds music I played.

Between the hot weather and so many astrological events I have found myself feeling very flustered lately. Don’t get me wrong, I love siting in the sun and sipping a cold drink, but when it comes to getting work done and staying focused in the summer I sometimes have a hard time.
With that in mind, I find it so helpful to dig into my witchy routines in order to stay grounded. For me that means tarot card pulls, journaling and a whole lot of energy work.
My everyday meditation routine
I really like to start my day with meditation or energy work of some kind. My mornings tend to be hectic so it can be hard to fit it in. One of the ways I’ve found to get the benefit of meditation while not having to wake up at 4 am is to keep it simple.
One of my favorite morning meditations utilizes the 10 Minute Chakra Balance Guided Meditation for Positive Energy. I love it because it gets me focused and centered but only takes ten minutes! The first time I tried it I was skeptical that a 10 minute video would really help me feel better but it really helps me. As an added bonus the music is very peaceful and the narrator has a great voice.
